Macro Views Survey Findings Summary
The January 2025 Macro Views Survey, featuring insights from 1,835 technology leaders (26% C-suite, 51% VP/Director level), highlights a positive outlook for IT spending. Organizations anticipate a 5.3% increase in 2025, with C-suite respondents projecting even higher growth. While only 15% plan to reduce IT budgets, primarily through staffing cuts, 73% aim to increase spending, prioritizing new projects and cloud expansion. Price increases were observed across all major categories, led by Software (3.8%), while Cloud spend surged by 9.5%. IT headcount is set to grow 2.2%, though Global 2000 companies remain more cautious. Cloud repatriation plans, driven by costs, compliance, and performance, stand at 15% overall, rising to 20% for Global 2000 organizations. Overall Software seat count is projected to grow 3.0% over the next six months (up from 2.3%). 35% of respondents anticipate a 5% or greater increase vs. 10% indicating a 5% or worse decrease. Global 2000 firms remain more conservative than the average at 1.7% growth.
