Senior Account Executive

Role Summary

The Senior Account Executive, reporting directly to the EVP of Financial Services, will be a senior member of the sales team with over 5 years of experience landing new business and growing client relationships within the financial services sector. This includes cultivating and commercializing relationships with directors of research, data teams, portfolio managers, and equity analysts.

A critical function expected of this role is to identify and evaluate new sales opportunities to generate a continuous pipeline of new business. The position also entails maintaining and growing existing ETR client relationships by cross-selling services, expanding user bases, and managing client renewals.

As a senior lead on client relationships, you will be expected to provide feedback and ideas to the product development team regarding client and prospect requests for new product features and enhancements, as well as work with ETR’s research team for company and sector-specific research topics. Experience in and understanding of the technology research landscape is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new clients to successfully convert to subscribers by effectively communicating ETR’s product offerings to financial services firms
  • Outbound emailing and cold-calling prospects, along with following up with inbound leads generated via our website, free-trial requests, various MQLs
  • Manage book of business to execute client renewals and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Execute company strategy and objectives around sales targets, new customer adoptions, and existing client renewals.
  • Gather feedback from clients and prospects around product development and enhancements to communicate with the firm’s data team.
  • Coordinate with the research team and play a role in shaping research product offerings as well as topical research projects.
  • Maintain and update internal CRM (Hubspot) for client engagement and sales pipeline activity.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years selling technology sector research and services into the financial services market, with experience selling data or research subscriptions preferred
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and converting new business opportunities.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Ability to foster relationships with key decision makers as well as daily active users.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to think and act creatively utilizing data.
  • Understanding of the investment research process both from a sales motion and end-user requirement point of view.
  • Ability to communicate ETR’s value proposition and insights.
  • Strong team player willing to assist and guide other team members.
